Choosing The Correct Credit Card If You Live In The UK
Credit cards are widespread all over the world; and different card companies are
in different countries. Some companies will only cater to the
region that they are in. So if you reside in the UK, then you might be wondering what type of credit cards you have available as options.
The credit cards that are available to you in the UK are no the
same anywhere else. The companies will provide you with special offers such as 0% APR for a fixed term, no annual fees; and
most will even allow you to apply for the credit cards online with ease. Many companies from the UK will not supply their credit cards to other countries
and this is mainly mainly for security reasons. But if you are a resident in the UK, then you are very likely to get a credit card from one of the many companies that will no doubt send you some forms for you to fill in if you would like a credit card.
Many companies prefer you to apply online, then the companies can bombard you with ads, stating that you will get a 60 second response and that if you say yes, then so will we.
However, owning a Credit Card in the UK is not always a happy experience. The UK owes tens of billions of pounds in credit card debt with an interest rate of over 16%; and that figure just keeps getting
larger. Almost ten percent of people in the UK who own a credit
card have debts over £2500; and with high interest rates, that
figure is hard to reduce.
However, there are advantages to owning a credit card that
many UK consumers find appealing. A lot of companies will offer travel insurance and protection against stolen goods, and of course the usual bundle of cash back and
low transfer rates. Along with discount vouchers, a credit card does seem appealing to a UK consumer.
Of course, no matter where you live, you need to be extremely cautious whenever you consider applying for a credit card. And you also need to be cautious when making purchases with the card and
also paying the bills. Other than that, there is no reason to worry about owning a
credit card. As long as you aren't being reckless with your
spending, it can only make life easier.
