What You Need To Know About Credit Card Machines.

Almost every store is now using the chip and pin system that credit card companies introduced in February 2006. This is the new way to keep your cards and the information held on the card safe and secure. These machines are a whole lot safer than signing your name on a credit card receipt.

These chip and pin machines are easy to use and will keep the scammers away from your card. All you have to do is this: when you are asked for your payment, simply swipe your card through the machine and you will be prompted on the screen display to enter you PIN.

The best part is that these credit card machines have a small little barrier that covers your hand as you enter your pin number, so anyone trying to see you type your PIN will not be able to do so.

Also to this, these machines prevent credit card fraud in other ways. One area where credit card fraud was rife in the past was in restaurants and cafes: when paying for your meal using your credit card, your card would be out of sight. Some cashiers would add a little bit extra onto the transaction to then start their process of credit card fraud. Or worse still record your card details.

Now restaurants are installing wireless credit card chip and pin machines, so you do not have to let your card leave the table. The waiter will simply bring the machine over; and you can swipe the card through and then enter your PIN, safe in the knowledge that no one else can see you enter your PIN.

These credit card machines have made life for the consumer a lot easier. They have also made the life of the fraudster a lot more difficult; chip and pin is the new way to protect your credit card details; and if the service stays as effective as it is now, which it should, then we will be seeing a lot more disgruntled fraudsters and a lot more happy consumers in the future.
